When following the River Cesse, you end up
amongst the mighty canyons which lead you to Minerve.
Minerve is built on top of a rock in the middle of the canyon, and
because of this strategic position, it is a treasure of the Catharan
history. It received the title ‘most beautiful city of France’.
Minerve, or Minervoix, is the name for the whole of the region, and
is a special tourist attraction not only because of the history but
also because of the splendid wines and the special natural
phenomenon that shows up here: so-called bridges cut out by the
powerful stream of the river.
